Sunara was founded by Rose zawedde – Moskvin, Rose
has a passion for good design and quality Crafts that looks stylish and last. She recognized a need for
high-quality footwear made from authentic, locally sourced materials that were recycled to help protect the
environment and combat climate change. Rose’s vision for Sunara was to create fashionable footwear
that could also contribute to sustainable living.
With this vision in mind, Rose partnered with skilled artisans in Kenya who shared her passion for ethical
and sustainable production practices. Together, they began crafting unique and stylish footwear made from
high-quality materials such as leather, canvas, and recycled rubber.
As Sunara has grown, the business has remained committed to its mission of producing durable and
fashionable footwear that is ethically and sustainably produced. Rose continues to work closely with the
artisans in Kenya to ensure that every pair of shoes is crafted with care and attention to detail. The
business is also committed to supporting local communities in Africa by using locally sourced materials
and providing fair wages to the artisans who make the footwear.
